Theo Demetriou is a Partner at Ioannides Demetriou LLC and has been with the firm since 2012. Theo is part of the firm’s litigation department and has a broad practice which includes Arbitration, Commercial Law, Dispute Resolution, Energy Law, Litigation, Public and Administrative Law and Real estate and Construction.

Having considerable experience in both international and domestic arbitral proceedings as well as the standard form construction contracts used by the Cypriot construction industry in public and private works (i.e. standard form contract for public tenders and the Fidic suite of Contracts), he advises and litigates on behalf of some of the largest contractors and semi-public bodies undertaking large infrastructure projects on the island in disputes before the Courts, arbitral tribunals and DABs.

Additionally, Theo is experienced in the registration and also the setting aside of both international and domestic arbitral awards in a broad range of commercial disputes.

Theo’s clientele includes some of the largest semi-public bodies in Cyprus such as the Electricity Authority of Cyprus, the Cyprus Organisation for the Storage and Management of Oil Stocks and the Open University of Cyprus and numerous foreign clients including some of the largest international law firms.
